The second survey is expected to begin to build a picture of trends and the impact of change factors on companies.

The Institute of Directors (IoD) in Guernsey has opened a second survey to collect data on business sentiment in the bailiwick.

The results of the first edition of the economic confidence survey, launched earlier this year, revealed that business leaders felt confident in their own organizations’ prospects over the next 12 months.

The second survey was expected to begin to build a picture of trends and the impact of changes in local and international factors on businesses in the bailiwick, the IoD said.

It is open to IoD members until November 4th.

Richard Hemans, IoD local lead for the economy, said: “We were very encouraged to see MPs and civil servants respond to the first set of data and can now start to build a picture of the trends – both of local confidence and the impact of external factors. .

“This type of information is a useful reference within the local business community, but it also provides data insights for our government, which is critical for policy decision-making.”
