From autumn to a taste of spring as our warming trend continues

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Sunshine will remain abundant as we move through next week as temperatures rise each afternoon. It will still be a layer type day for much of the week as the cool mornings continue, but we will see more of a typical chill in the air as we remain near normal.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Skies remain clear overnight and will once again allow our temperatures to drop quickly overnight and into Tuesday morning. The lows remain pretty consistent as we are in our 40s when you go to work and school.

Although we are prepared for our mornings, our afternoons will be above average thanks to the abundant sunshine. Winds will remain light from the northeast and continue to bring drier air. Tuesday’s highs will be back in the mid-70s, but it won’t stop there as highs in the 70s to near 80s are possible on Wednesday.

LOOKING FORWARD

High pressure is our best friend for the calm weather at play, but it is also allowing some of the drought to return to our western counties. Rain chances appear slim over the next 8 days, but a stray shower cannot be ruled out in the cold front Friday through Saturday.

Even though rain isn’t a major factor, the front looks to bring us some freshness. The latest news can be found in your WVLT First Alert 8-Day Planner.
