Health Minister Arti Singh Rao to inspect hospitals in Gurugram on Tuesday

The state’s newly appointed health minister Arti Singh Rao will hold a review meeting with the district administration and health department officials on Tuesday at the PWD Guest House in Gurugram, where he will discuss the status of healthcare infrastructure and issues related issues belonging to his department, officials said on Monday.

The minister will also inspect the Civil Hospital project site near Sadar Bazar, the Sector 10 government hospital and the Sheetla Mata Medical College and Hospital under construction at Kherki Majra village near the Dwarka Expressway on Tuesday.

“The focus will be on developing healthcare infrastructure in Haryana and providing basic facilities to common people. Starting from Gurugram, review meetings will be held in all districts of Haryana where machinery, equipment and manpower requirements will be assessed and all efforts will be made to make healthcare accessible to all,” he said. “All efforts will be made to expedite the construction of hospitals in Gurugram so that adequate healthcare facilities are made available to the general public,” she said.

In addition to improving the infrastructure of hospitals, the minister said she will hold discussions with health personnel, including doctors and nursing staff, to learn about their problems and needs. “Efforts will be made to improve the working conditions of health personnel and whenever there is a need to increase it, this will be done,” she said.

Construction of Gurugram’s civil hospital near Sadar Bazar has been stalled for five-six years and recently the CPWD was asked to complete the work. The Faculty of Medicine and Sheetla Mata hospital also missed several deadlines. The hospital’s structural works are expected to be completed by the end of this year.
