Laura Vaughan’s MAFS Diary: Alex finally showed his true colors – but I’m shocked NONE of the men stood up for Sasha

Last night’s explosive MAFS commitment ceremony had me reaching for the popcorn.

It was full of emotional moments and tears, explosive fights and even a scandalous affair was exposed.

It would have taken at least 10 HOURS to film and frustrations would have been running high.

But amongst all the drama, there was one couple that stood out to me, but for all the wrong reasons.

Alex finally showed his true colors, and it’s about time!

But what perplexed me most was that NONE of the men stood up for Holly.

It was wrong and they should have intervened. Come on, we are in MAFS after all.

Alex is raising the red flag

Let’s talk about possibly the most complicated commitment ceremony in MAFS UK history.

All I want to say is that I feel sorry for every single person sitting on the couch, in production, behind the scenes, because that commitment ceremony would have been filmed for about 10 hours and let me tell you that people’s frustrations were definitely showing.

We finally see Alex’s true colors in this episode, where he’s being incredibly disrespectful and argumentative towards women in private and then trying to reconcile that with his… very shady husband.

It looks like we’ve finally gotten confirmation that he and Holly are the couple who supposedly left the experiment midway.

We got a sneak peek at the next episode and it looks like they’re on their way out.

I would bet my bottom dollar that it probably has something to do with his behind-the-scenes behavior.

Defend your wife!

Thank goodness Sasha stepped up and called Alex out on his behavior, because it doesn’t seem like any of the men in that room were willing to do that.

I’m very disappointed in Ross for not standing up for her.

I understand you don’t want to get into the drama, but you signed up for MAFS UK, there’s going to be a lot of drama.

It looks like their relationship is about to implode in the next episode – we don’t really know what happened, it looks like they had some kind of argument, but it’s already leaked that they didn’t make it work on the outside. I wonder how much time is left for the experiment.

It comes after Alex labeled Lacey a ‘snake’ after she dropped a huge bombshell that Hannah and Orson had kissed on the last day of the retreat.

Alex also called out Richelle for “talking shit” after she claimed that Orson and Hannah were on a double date with Alex and Holly the night before.

Sasha wasn’t having it and said, “Don’t do this to me Alex, I don’t think you need to turn to Richelle and say ‘you’re full of shit. ‘ and turn to Lacey and say ‘you’re a snake’, there are certain ways to approach things calmly. You don’t need to attack, attack, attack.

“I sat here and watched you attack women from either side and it f*****d me up because I didn’t like it, Alex.”

Holly then told her husband to “not take it out on her”, with him responding: “Who’s taking it out on you?”

Mel Schilling added: “Please respect the forum.”

Alex later told the camera: “Holly is angry, I told Lacey I think she’s a snake and now you’ve got Sasha coming at me, be quiet, your voice is going right through me.

“If I were Ross, I’d be telling my wife to calm down, not everything needs your two cents.”

Holly added: “Alex shamed me, I can’t be with a man who treats my friends like that.”

To recouple or not to recouple?

Couple swapping is not new to MAFS.

It happened in my series with Ella Morgan and JJ Slater and in the 2022 series with Whitney Hughes and Matt Murray.

Honestly, I never thought I would say this, but Richelle surprised me with her speech to the point where she called Orson ‘simple’ because she crossed the line.

Richelle criticized Orson for being “selfish” for keeping her here for another week and missing her daughter’s birthday.

Hannah and Orson are giving it a bit of desperation at this point and are very interested in continuing the process.

But we know it’s not MAFS UK without some kind of recoupling.

I predict we will definitely see them in the next episode when they take a chance on their relationship externally.

This is what happens when you’re not honest and tell your partner you want to do something with someone else before you actually do it.

We saw it last season and we’re seeing it this time too.

But more to the point, I don’t think anyone has the means to sustain themselves in this group so far.

We left Stephen angry because Hannah was kissing Orson when he was chasing Siannon.

Richelle is angry at Orson for pursuing Hannah, even though she herself has no interest in him.

It’s all very, very messed up!

In recent weeks, Richelle and Orson’s marriage has imploded. The pair argued endlessly and did not form any connection.

Orson struck up a connection with Hannah, who was also in a dead-end marriage with Stephen and the two shared a kiss at the retreat.

But Richelle, furious, attacked Orson, saying: “Why did you want to stay, I know you were trying to honor my worth. Where was your self respect and dignity, you were so desperate to stay in the process.

“What I’m sensing from Orson is a desperation to stay in the process by any means necessary, he saw an opportunity with Hannah to regroup and stay in the process, he took it.

“He’s an embarrassment right now.

“Hannah, God bless her, went through all the different guys, trying to hang on to someone to stay in the process and Orson was the only one who made it.

“It causes despair, I find it embarrassing.”

Brave conversation

I really just wanted to talk about Kristina and Kieran, I thought it was an incredibly brave couch chat.

I think it’s hard for Kieran to be so honest and hard for Kristina to hear him talk about his PMDD like that.

I know a lot of people are probably wondering why this wasn’t necessarily shown on camera, but I think the production and everyone involved made the right decision and decided to keep this kind of thing out of the public eye.

Much love to that couple because their emotion and authenticity are really shining through.

Kristina was open about her PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder) on the show – a severe version of premenstrual syndrome (PMS).

After all the chaos in this episode, I’m really intrigued to see how this plays out tomorrow.
