A 21-year-old woman has been arrested after an alleged attack on a two-year-old girl at a Perth shopping center

Pamila-Raye Jetta, from Ellenbrook, who has a solid build and a shaved head, was detained earlier today following a police search.

“A 21-year-old Ellenbrook woman has been charged with aggravated assault occasioning bodily harm,” police said in a statement.

The random attack occurred at Park Center on the Albany Highway in East Victoria Park in Perth’s south-east at around 1.25pm ​​on Tuesday.

Images from the scene showed a woman walking towards the child in her mother’s arms.

Seconds later. she reached out and attacked the girl before her mother quickly retreated.

The woman then fled the scene and was not known to the mother or child.

WA Premier Roger Cook said he was pleased with the arrest following the horrific incident.

The horrific incident occurred at Park Centre, on the Albany Highway, in East Victoria Park, south-east of Perth, at around 1.25pm ​​on Tuesday.

“It must have been extremely traumatic for the mother and potentially very serious injuries to the baby involved,” he said.

Jetta will appear before Perth Magistrates Court on Thursday.

The incident follows another shocking attack on an innocent baby.

In August, nine-month-old baby Luka was injured by a stranger while on a picnic with his mother in a Brisbane park.

Police allege a man approached the boy and poured a thermos of hot coffee on him, burning his face and chest.
