Congress announces list of 21 candidates

The Congress released its first list for the Jharkhand assembly elections on Monday night. The first list contains the names of 21 candidates.

Amid rumors and speculations, the Congress gave a ticket to Hatia’s Ajay Nath Shahdev. Irfan Ansari from Jamtara, Mamta Devi from Ramgarh, Munna Singh from Hazaribagh, Dr. Ajay Kumar from Jamshedpur East and Bhushan Bara from Simdega were fielded. In addition, there are names of 15 candidates on the Congress list.

Congress candidates Ajay Nath Shahdev from Hatia, Irfan Ansari from Jamtara, Badal Patralekh from Jarmundi, Pradeep Yadav from Poraiyahat, Deepika Pandey Singh from Mahagama, Amba Prasad from Barkagaon, Mamta Devi from Ramgarh, Jai Prakash Patel from Mandu, Munna Singh from Hazaribagh , Kumar Jayamangal of Bermo, Purnima Neeraj Singh of Jharia, Jaleshwar Mahato of Baghmara, Dr. Ajay Kumar of Jamshedpur (East), Banna Gupta of Jamshedpur (West), Sonaram Sinku of Jagannathpur (ST), Rajesh Kachhap of Khijri (ST) , Shilpi Neha Tirkey of Mandar (ST), Bhushan Bada of Simdega (ST), Naman Vikas Kongadi of Kolebira (ST), Rameshwar Oraon of Lohardaga (ST) and Ramchandra Singh of Manika (ST)

The BJP has already released its first list of 66 candidates. The BJP gave ticket to former CM Champai Soren from the Saraikela Vidhan Sabha seat. Champai Soren left Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and joined the BJP. Along with this, Babulal Marandi was sent from Dhanwar. The BJP gave tickets to Sita Soren from Jamtara seat, Neera Yadav from Koderma, Munia Devi from Gandey, Tara Devi from Sindri, Aparna Sengupta from Nirsa, Ragini Singh from Jharia, Geeta Balmuchu from Chaibasa, Pushpa Devi Bhuiyan from Chhatarpur.

The Jharkhand election is special in many ways this time. On one hand, the BJP is trying its best to win Jharkhand this time. On the other hand, the Indian alliance is also striving to remain in power. Amid the electoral fight, JMM made a big bet on Monday night. Hemant Soren included six veteran BJP leaders in his party. These include the potential BJP candidate against Hemant Soren from Barehat seat, Louis Marandi, former Ghatsila MLA Laxman Tudu, former Baharagora MLA Kunal Sarangi, former BJP candidate from Saraikela seat Ganesh Mahali, the president of East Singhbhum district BJP Bari Murmu and BJP leader Basque Besra. The BJP wanted to field Louis Marandi from Hemant Soren’s Barehat seat. But she wanted to contest from the Dumka seat, from where the BJP fielded Sunil Soren. In this situation, she joined JMM.

Voting will be held in two phases in 81 constituencies of Jharkhand. The first phase will be held on November 13th, in which voting will take place in 43 seats. The second phase will be on November 20th, when voting will take place on 38 seats. After that, the counting of votes will take place on November 23rd. According to the Election Commission, the total number of voters in Jharkhand is 2,55,18,642, of which 1,29,97,325 are male voters and 1,25,20,910 are female voters.
