Mics captured LeBron’s message to Bronny James on the Lakers’ bench before his NBA debut

Father and son sat on the bench for the Los Angeles Lakers in their season opener against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday night at Crypto.com Arena.

Dad, LeBron James, shared some words of wisdom with his son, Bronny James, who was just minutes away from making his long-awaited NBA debut.

“Are you ready?” LeBron asked his son.

“Yes,” replied Bronny James.

“Feel the intensity, okay?” LeBron said. “Just play with no worries. Don’t worry about mistakes – just go out there and play hard.”

Bronny James entered the game alongside his father with four minutes left in the second quarter. He played just under three minutes of play and missed a three-point attempt from 28 feet.

James was also credited with an offensive rebound on a putback attempt following a miss by Anthony Davis. He left the game with 1:19 to play in the first half with a stat line that read 0-for-2 from the field with a board.

Bronny James, who was born on October 6, 2004 – just weeks before his father began his second NBA season – is officially an NBA player. He and LeBron became the first father-son duo in NBA history to share the court in the same game.

What a special night at the Crypto.com Arena.
