Anna Hart, GoFundMe started for Brunswick student’s family after unexpected death

Anna Hart, a student at Brunswick High School in Maine, has died unexpectedly, the school announced.

Hart passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 22nd. No cause of death was publicly disclosed, although suicide was mentioned in the announcement of the tragedy.

The tragic news was announced in a statement from Brunswick Schools Superintendent Phil Potenziano.

“It is with deep sadness that I write this letter to inform you that one of our high school students, Anna Hart, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 22nd. My sincere condolences and thoughts go out to Anna’s family and friends,” he said. .

He added that members of the school’s Crisis Response Team will be made available to help students who experience any difficulties with the news. “It is very important, if you or your child are not feeling well in any way, to ask for help. Suicide should not be an option,” Potenziano added.

ONE GoFundMe was started in honor of Hart, with plans to raise money for his family to get through the difficult time ahead.

“This GoFundMe was created to support Anna’s moms, Heidi Eddy and Courtney Michalec, and her stepmom, Darleen Michalec, as they cope with the devastating loss of their sweet, adorable Anna,” the fundraiser said.

Anna has been described as ‘a vibrant, creative and kind soul who brought joy to all who met her’. She was an animal lover who turned away many stray dogs, cats and more.

With an initial goal of $10,000, fundraising has totaled about $3,000 so far.
