TV schedule and coverage, announcers for Week 8

TV schedule and coverage, announcers for Week 8

While the NFL’s bye season is underway, football fans are in for a special treat in Week 8. Computer-generated programming has produced a no-bye model in Week 8, so all 32 teams are back in action for the first time since Week 4, offering a full slate of 16 games for fans to enjoy.

There’s plenty of great action, including a big Sunday night showdown in San Francisco and a showdown between the top two picks of the 2024 draft in Washington, but which games will be available in your area? Read on for that information, as well as who’s calling each game, in this week’s NFL TV coverage maps, courtesy of 506 Sports.

Thursday, October 24th – Thursday Night Football (Amazon Prime)

Week 8 begins in Los Angeles, with the Rams looking to move one step closer to salvaging their season with an upset over the Minnesota Vikings at SoFi Stadium. Minnesota is trying to bounce back after seeing its perfect record tarnished with a late loss to Detroit on Sunday.

Sunday, October 27th

FOX (single header)

FOX NFL Week 8 coverage map

FOX’s singleheader has six games, but the most eye-catching game falls at 4:05 when the Bills host the Seahawks, so it will mark a rare occasion where the A-crew works a late singleheader. The only other game with two teams with winning records on FOX’s slate is a Falcons-Bucs matchup in Tampa with first place in the NFC South on the line in the 1:00 window.

CBS (home window)

The CBS doubleheader got off to a strong start, with Eagles-Bengals and Colts-Texans offering two headlining contests, with the former going to the vast majority of the country. Ian Eagle and Charles Davis are on the call for Cincinnati in a game that was originally scheduled for CBS’ last game of this doubleheader.

CBS (late window)

The NFL flexed Bears-Commanders for CBS’ late window to showcase Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels, so CBS is certainly hoping Daniels’ rib injury doesn’t keep him from playing in this contest. The window’s other two games feature teams from the AFC West, including Kansas City’s attempt to remain undefeated against the last team to beat them, the Las Vegas Raiders.

Sunday Night Football (NBC)

This week’s Sunday night matchup is a highly anticipated rematch between the Cowboys and 49ers, both of whom could really build on this win. NBC had the same matchup a year ago when San Francisco eliminated Dallas in Week 5 of the 2023 season.

Monday, October 28 – Monday Night Football (ESPN/ABC)

Week 8 ends in Pittsburgh, with the Steelers looking to beat the other New York team in prime time, with the hapless Giants coming to town. It will be interesting to see how this game fares in the ratings with a Yankees-Dodgers World Series matchup set to begin at the same time on FOX.
