Kamala Harris warns of Donald Trump’s “increasingly unhinged” behavior, echoing concerns of fascism

WASHINGTON, DC: Kamala Harris issued a stark warning about former President Donald Trump’s character following revelations from Gen. John Kelly, Trump’s former chief of staff.

On Wednesday, October 23, the vice president called Trump “incredibly dangerous” in light of comments he allegedly made praising Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler.

Donald Trump’s alleged praise for Adolf Hitler raises concern

Kamala Harris addressed the press a day after The New York Times published audio recordings of Gen. John Kelly, a retired four-star general, confirming that Donald Trump expressed admiration for Adolf Hitler’s generals while serving as president.

The former president reportedly said he wanted the same kind of loyalty from the US military, raising alarm about his intentions to use the military for personal purposes rather than protecting the Constitution.

“Donald Trump said this because he does not want an army that is loyal to the Constitution of the United States. He wants an army that is loyal to him,” Harris said.

She warned that in a second term, the Republican presidential candidate would attempt to command an army that would break the law and abandon his constitutional oath to serve his personal and political goals.

Kamala Harris says Donald Trump’s ‘enemy within’ remark highlights threat to democracy

Kamala Harris also condemned Donald Trump’s recent rhetoric in which he referred to Americans who oppose him as “the enemy within.”

She stressed that Trump’s definition of an “enemy” includes anyone who dares to criticize or oppose him – be they judges, journalists or election officials.

“And let’s be clear about who he considers to be the enemy within. Anyone who refuses to bend the knee or dares to criticize him would qualify, in his opinion, as an enemy,” Harris said.

The Vice President repeatedly referred to Kelly’s remarks, in which the General described Trump as meeting the “general definition of a fascist.”

She argued that Kelly’s testimony provided a crucial window into who Trump really is, coming from someone who worked closely with the former president in high-stakes situations.

“From the people who know him best, from the people who worked with him side by side in the Oval Office and the Situation Room,” Harris said.

Kamala Harris says Donald Trump wants ‘unfettered power’

With just a few days left until the elections, Kamala Harris framed the dispute as a decisive moment for the country’s future.

“Donald Trump is increasingly unhinged and unstable, and in a second term, people like John Kelly would not be there to serve as a buffer against his proclivities and actions,” she said.

“The bottom line is this: we know what Donald Trump wants. He wants unfettered power,” Harris said.

“The question in 13 days will be: What do the American people want?” she added, according to Mediaite.

While the vice president stopped short of directly calling Trump a fascist, she agreed with others who have.

Radio host Charlamagne tha God, for example, described Trump’s actions as “fascism” in a recent interview, and Harris responded, “We can say that.”
