Mahindra opens two new testing facilities in Tamil Nadu

Mahindra has invested over Rs 300 million to set up the new testing facilities.

Mahindra recently opened two new testing facilities in Tamil Nadu. The new passive safety laboratory and battery and cell research laboratory are located in Kanchipuram, 55 km from Mahindra Research Valley (MRV).

Mahindra has invested over Rs 300 million to set up the new testing facilities. The automaker said these facilities will be used to test the safety of its SUVs under various load cases and research future cell technologies.

R Velusamy, president, Automotive Technology and Production Development, Mahindra, said the new testing facilities will complement MRV, where new products are developed, and the Mahindra SUV Proving Track (MSPT), where vehicles are tested under various conditions.

He added that the highly sophisticated laboratories will enable Mahindra engineers to develop safer and more sustainable products.
