Mangaluru, October 24: The 5th graduation day of Yenepoya Institute of Arts, Science, Commerce and Management (YIASCM) took place on 23rd October at Yendurance Zone, Deralakatte, Mangaluru. The event celebrated the achievements of graduates and marked a proud moment for the institution. The convocation procession was led by Assistant Controller of Examinations, Chaithra Shetty, followed by dignitaries including the chief guest, Prof Rajeev Kumra, Director, TAPMI, Manipal.

Prof Kumra inspired the graduates with personal stories from his career, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and hard work. Reflecting on his journey from member of the sales team to director of TAPMI, he shared how his life’s achievements were the result of dedication, urging graduates to remain resilient and committed to their goals.

During the event, Dr. Arun A Bhagwath, Director of YIASCM and Chairman of the program, recognized the outstanding achievements of the graduating students. He reflected on his dedication, perseverance and hard work throughout his university journey, noting how his personal and academic growth was a testament to the vibrant academic environment fostered at the institution. Dr. Bhagwath also expressed immense pride in producing future leaders, emphasizing that the graduates were well prepared to face the world’s challenges with confidence and integrity. He highlighted that his achievements not only reflected his potential, but also the faculty’s unwavering support and the college’s collaborative spirit.

Guest of honor, Ajith Kamath, President, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Mangaluru, highlighted the remarkable growth of YIASCM since its inception in 2017, now serving over 5,470 students. He emphasized the importance of upskilling in today’s competitive job market and encouraged graduates to explore entrepreneurship, emphasizing the importance of continuous learning and investing in your future.

Shobha BG, Senior Civil Judge and Member Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, spoke about the critical stages of a student’s development, from basic education to the challenges of choosing a career. She advised graduates to stay informed about legal issues and to consider further study, such as studying an LLB.

Dr. KS Gangadhara Somayaji, Registrar of Yenepoya University, congratulated the graduates and wished them success. He further added, “Graduation is not just an end, but a beginning – a new chapter filled with endless possibilities. As our graduates move into the future, they carry with them the knowledge, values ​​and resilience that will guide them through every challenge and opportunity. We are proud of their achievements and confident in their potential to shape a better tomorrow.”

The highlight of the ceremony was the award of degrees to 437 students of BBA, 199 of B Com, 264 students of BSc, 361 students of BCA programs and PG section, 12 students of MSc (chemistry), 45 students of MSc and MCA ( Computer Science). 9 students from various departments were awarded Best Outgoing Student. With more than 2,000 people in attendance, the convocation was a celebration of the university’s long-standing heritage and ongoing commitment to academic excellence.

The program was joined by Priya and Chaitra Koppala. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. Jeevan Raj followed by the national anthem.
