Singham Again vs Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3: T-Series Demands 50-50 Screen Split

The upcoming Diwali box office clash between Ajay Devgn’s Singham Again and Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has taken a serious turn. With just a few days left for its November 1 release, T-Series, the makers of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, have approached the Competition Commission of India (CCI), accusing the makers of Singham Again of unfair practices regarding screen allocation.

T-Series urged the CCI, the body responsible for ensuring fair competition and consumer welfare, to intervene and ensure an equal division of cinema viewing time. The production house is pushing for a 50-50 screen allocation between the two films.

A source told indianexpress.com, “PVR Pictures, the distributor of Singham Again, has secured over 60 percent of the film’s shows at PVR Inox theatres. Additionally, several single-screen cinemas were instructed to reserve all showtimes for Singham Again, with some cinemas offering Bhool Bhulaiyaa only three morning slots.

Facing a potential box office disadvantage, T-Series decided to refer the matter to the CCI, requesting equal distribution of the show between the two Diwali releases.

Interestingly, this is not the first time such a conflict has occurred for Ajay Devgn. The actor had earlier approached the CCI in 2012 when his film Son of Sardaar clashed with Yash Chopra’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan during the Diwali season, alleging a similar issue.

Singham Again, directed by Rohit Shetty, stars a powerhouse cast including Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor and Jackie Shroff. Meanwhile, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 brings back Kartik Aaryan, along with Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit and Triptii Dimri, raising the stakes in this box office clash.

Both films are scheduled for release on November 1st, making this one of the most significant showdowns of the year.
