Increased fire danger and potential record highs in the new week

Increased fire danger and potential record highs in the new week

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) – The last weekend of October will see some seasonally cool conditions in north-central Wisconsin. Some clouds will move over the area on Saturday evening, but it will remain dry. Quite a bit of sun on Sunday, fresh wind and slightly warmer. Temperatures will rise during the early working week as high pressure shifts into eastern Wisconsin. Record highs could be challenged in some locations on Monday and Tuesday. The next weather maker is a cold front that should gradually move through the region Wednesday through Thursday. Halloween will be noticeably cooler, but will remain dry into the early evening for trick-or-treating times. Temperatures will moderate heading into the start of next weekend.

The next chance of wet weather is Wednesday. A first warning about needing the umbrella on Wednesday afternoon at night. Before the rain arrives, it will still be fairly mild, with highs in the 60s to near 70 degrees. In the wake of the cold front, it will be much cooler on Halloween. Morning showers, then mostly cloudy. Breezy with highs in the mid 40s. The outlook for Halloween trick-or-treating in the early evening has temperatures in the low 40s, with clouds giving way to some clear skies during the evening. A good idea to put on at least 2 layers, warm, so to speak, along with the costume.
