CAF responds as seven Zambian footballers die in bus accident

Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) president Patrice Motsepe on Monday expressed sadness over the tragic news of a road accident in Zambia that claimed the lives of seven Chavuma Town Council Football Club players.

Recall that the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) had expressed its “deep shock” over the accident that occurred last weekend. The team was traveling to a third division match in the northwest of the country when the accident occurred.

Reacting to the sad news, Motsepe extended his and CAF’s deepest condolences to the families of the seven players, FAZ, and the Zambian people.

“It is with deep sadness that I learned of the tragic road accident that claimed the lives and seriously injured members of the Chavuma Town Council Football Club who were on their way to a North Western Province Division One League match,” Motsepe said in a statement declaration. on Monday.

“I extend my personal and deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the deceased and the Football Association of Zambia.
