Teenager arrested for raping 13-year-old sister in Sundargarh

Rourkela: A 15-year-old boy was arrested Sundargarh district on Sunday for allegedly raping his own 13 year old sister and make her pregnant.
Their mother is a worker. Her husband left about three years ago. The woman filed a report with the local police station on Saturday evening, alleging that her son had raped her daughter while she had gone to work. He also threatened his sister not to disclose the incident to anyone. The girl did not tell her mother out of fear. Recently, the girl felt pain in her abdomen, and when her mother took her to the hospital for examination, it turned out that she was six months pregnant. The minor girl then revealed her ordeal.
Based on the FIR filed by the woman, the police registered a rape case pursuant to Article 6 of the Pocso Act against the suspect and arrested him. A medical examination of both the survivor and the suspect was conducted. The minor girl was kept at a Sakhi one-stop center in Rourkela.
“We have arrested the minor boy and are further investigating the case,” said Nirmal Mohapatra, DSP.
