TikTok Don’t stop! Inside the app’s 2024 Met Gala afterparty with Stella McCartney

What do you get when you pair a Met Gala sponsor (TikTok) with fashion’s most legendary party designer (Stella McCartney) as after-party co-hosts? One of the most rocking evenings of the evening! And boy, was there some competition; the evening offered a dozen parties to choose from.

After McCartney and her Stella girl group – FKA Twigs, Cara Delevingne – left the Met Museum after dinner, they headed straight down East 61st Street to Casa Cruz, for the TikTok x Stella after-party McCartney.

Arriving at the elegant townhouse, guests were greeted with a pizza oven placed outside on the street, serving cute little pies in personal pizza boxes. Arriving inside, guests like Rita Ora, Shakira and more were transported via a nifty elevator to the 6th floor, the indoor-outdoor portion of Casa Cruz’s rooftop terrace, where an after- party was in full swing.

In one corner, Leonardo DiCaprio sat with his team, observing the party from the perimeter and in another, Shakira showed off a new look for the evening after stunning in a red Carolina Herrera look on the Met Gala red carpet. She now wore a tight white outfit, also by CH – designer Wes Gordon was by her side. Other notable post-party changes included Cara Delevingne, who took off her Joan of Arc-style helmet and slipped into something more comfortable — a plaid blazer — and Charlie XCX, who donned a mini -dress and a pair of sunglasses for a little edge.

The party didn’t really start until McCartney showed up – was that really the case? Long praised for hosting one of the funniest groups at the Met Gala, the designer also knows a thing or two about after-parties. (It also hosted one of last year’s best.) A scan of the room revealed megawatt names were having a wonderful time. Karlie Kloss and Dasha Zhukova were perched in a booth (discussing their media empires?); Lewis Hamilton, fresh from an F1 race in Miami, walked around the room; and Serena and Venus Williams hung out with guests. Throughout it all, McCartney, who glowed in a metallic silver minidress, split her time between all of her guests: see snaps of her and Matt Damon, Serena Williams, Penelope Cruz, and more!

Sipping Casamigos cocktails, guests ascend the steps of the 5-story townhouse, home to one of the city’s liveliest members-only clubs; the venue’s mirrored staircase made for a fabulous photoshoot. There can never be too many on the first Monday in May!
