Luis Enrique, PSG coach: defeat in Champions League semi-final is unfair

PSG coach Luis Enrique says their Champions League semi-final defeat to Borussia Dortmund was “unfair”.

Mats Hummels scored for BVB’s 1-0 win in Paris as BVB reached the final 2-0 on aggregate.

Enrique said afterwards: “When the result is like that, yes, it’s difficult of course.

“It’s a close game, but to be honest I think we have to win the game. We created 31 shots, four (hitting the woodwork sometimes) – football is so unfair sometimes.

“Congratulations to them. They’re a great team and I hope they can go to the final and win it.”

Of the regrouping, he added: “It’s our job to try to create something and it’s a sad moment.

“We have to create something special and next year we will try to win the competition.”

For his part, BVB coach Edin Terzic said: “Before the first match against PSV Eindhoven, we spoke for the first time about the shortness of the trip to London.

“At the time, many were still perplexed. Last season we lost the championship at home on the last day.

“I’m happy that we can now give something back to the fans. We grew with each game and we finally realized that we could be the team that surprises everyone at the end. Now I’m very happy to be in the final with my group.”
