Ric Flair has apologized for losing his temper during a confrontation with a restaurant employee in Florida over the weekend.

Flair, 75, was celebrating his daughter-in-law’s college graduation at Piesanos Stone Fired Pizza in Gainesville, and surveillance footage emerged of him calling a staff member a “dips-t” and inviting her to resolve their differences externally.

The professional wrestling legend joined “The MJ Morning Show” at Q105 in Tampa on Wednesday and explained what happened.

During the radio spot, Flair discussed how he had a near-death experience in 2017 and that his “intestines” and the rest of his body “work differently now.”

The implication of this is that Flair needed to use the bathroom and was agitated that a restaurant employee was taking time to do his business.

He said he had a cordial relationship with the bartenders at the establishment before the bathroom incident and that the employee named Nicholas, who was behind the bar during the video, confronted him about his behavior in the bathroom, but that they had no previous interactions.

“I was wrong to get angry, but I kind of felt like I was defending my position,” Flair said.

“I’m with my wife and my daughter-in-law, who just got her degree in criminology and is going to work for the FBI, and they came out so strong that she was scared from the start.”

Flair returned to his post on X where he said he would never eat at the restaurant again, saying he had already ordered delivery from the establishment since the incident.

“I was wrong to lose my temper. I probably should have walked through the door, but it caught me off guard because we were having a wonderful time.

Flair denied being drunk at the time of the confrontation, saying he drank Michelob Ultra beers and “probably” two cocktails.
