German Defense Minister: “Ready to assume leadership of security policy in Europe”

Germany is ready to play a leading role in security policy in Europe and will make its military capabilities available to this end. This was stated by the German Minister of Defense, Boris Pistorius, during a speech at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, as part of his visit to the United States.

“We, the United States and Germany, are shaping the future together with all those who defend freedom, peace and the rules-based international order. Germany is a loyal ally, capable and willing to assume its role within the alliance and in world politics. We are ready to take the initiative,” declared Pistorius, who will also meet his Canadian counterpart Bill Blair today.
