And Western political leaders also appear to support Aliyev – European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen even called Azerbaijan a “crucial partner,” he adds.

“All of this reminds us how little we have learned from history and how vulnerable we still are to evil. In 1932, Albert Einstein wrote to Sigmund Freud, arguing that extreme nationalism could lead to large-scale violence. It is time for the world to understand this too and create new strategies to end all genocide,” Ocampo continues.
