The Wheaton Garden Club recently announced its 2024 Philanthropic Honorees.

The scholarship winner is Grace Weber, who is pursuing an associate of science degree with a concentration in biology at the College of DuPage. She then plans to attend a four-year university to earn a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies.

A financial donation was made to We Grow Dreams to help replace raised beds and make structural repairs to their shopping center.

We Grow Dreams is a nursery and greenhouse located on Chicago’s West Side that has provided job training and employment to young adults with disabilities for over 16 years.

A beautification donation was also made to the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans to provide a seating area in one of their apartment buildings. The Wheaton nonprofit provides services to help homeless and at-risk veterans and their families achieve self-sufficiency.

Previous philanthropic donations have been made to the Cosley Zoo, Willowbrook Wildlife Center and Illinois Prairie Path.
