Giuntoli on Allegri: ‘We will decide at the end of the season, unfair to blame just one person’

Juventus director of football Cristiano Giuntoli insists the club will only make a decision on Max Allegri’s future at the end of the campaign.

The Bianconeri faithful have called for a change in the dugout after another disappointing campaign.

But if Giuntoli no longer publicly confirms the coach’s stay beyond the season, he continues to praise his work, refusing to cause a sensation in the media.

The former Napoli manager believes it would be unfair to blame just one person for the team’s mid-season collapse.

“Every path has to be decided in the end, now we focus on the goals,” the club director said ahead of Juve’s clash against Roma via La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Giuntoli also delivered a similar response when pressed for comment on the contract renewals of Federico Chiesa and Weston McKennie. Instead, he avoided questions by revealing his inner Juventus fan, celebrating the birthday of May 5, 2002.

“What a pleasure to remember May 5,” he said jokingly.

“Now we have to achieve our goals, which is to reach the Champions League. We had a great first part of the season, everyone did great things.

“But now that the results are bad, it is unfair to point the finger at just one person.

“We are very united with the coach and the technical staff. We sit down and evaluate the future at the end of the season.

Giuntoli also insisted that the management maintains good relations with those around Chiesa.

“Chiesa is a big one. We get along well with him and his entourage. Each path must be decided together in the end.

“But now we are very focused on the goal which is the Champions League.”
