Olly Murs suffered an embarrassing microphone error during his performance in Birmingham last night, while appearing as a special guest alongside Take That.

As part of the band’s This Life On Tour, the Troublemaker singer took to the stage at Utilita Arena Birmingham to warm up the audience with his fan-favourite hits. However, things took an awkward turn during his performance of Dear Darlin’, when the star’s microphone fell off the stage, leaving him helpless.

The iconic song was going to go as planned, with Olly greeting and interacting with fans, until he decided to put his microphone back on the stand, where it accidentally fell. He quickly rushed over to the backing singers to use their microphones, before laughing and clapping with the audience. With the arena capable of holding over 15,000 people, it’s no surprise that the moment was filmed by a delighted member of the public, who shared the moment on Instagram. They captioned the video: “Amazing show! @ollymurs your mic drops, it’s recorded.”
