Manchester United remain silent on Erik Ten Hag’s future despite hopes he will be sacked

Manchester United are still refusing to comment on Erik ten Hag’s position amid reports he will be sacked after the FA Cup final.

United sources have reiterated that they are focused on Saturday’s final against City and will not be distracted by speculation. United insist they will review the season after the City game and will not make a decision on Ten Hag until then.

External sources had expected Ten Hag to be sacked for weeks as United failed to qualify for the Champions League. On all four occasions United failed to qualify for the competition, they changed managers during or at the end of the season.

Despite Unietd’s position, the club has been evaluating potential candidates to replace Ten Hag for several months. Roberto De Zerbi was among the managers being considered earlier this year and United recently contacted the representatives of Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna.

Former Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel and Mauricio Pochettino, who was sacked by Chelsea in midweek, would both relish the opportunity to manage United.
