Vitalik Buterin publishes a heartfelt message following the death of Kabochan

Vitalik Buterin took to X to mourn the passing of the beloved Shiba Inu dog who inspired the iconic Dogecoin meme. Buterin posted a simple message “Rest in peace Kabochan” in reaction to Kabochan owner Atsuko Sako’s post announcing his passing. Members of the Dogecoin community as well as the crypto community in general are paying tribute. Kabosu not only sparked a global meme phenomenon but also inspired Dogecoin, which started as a joke and is now the eighth most valuable cryptocurrency.
