Karnataka HM appeals to cancel Prajwal Revanna’s passport

Responding to Foreign Minister S Jaishankar’s statement, Parameshwara, according to PTI, told reporters: “I too have seen the media report. If he (S Jaishankar) said so, it means the PMO did not inform the Ministry of External Affairs. The Chief Minister wrote the letter in April himself and EAM claims to have received it on May 21.

“What happened to the letter from the Prime Minister’s Office? Did it not receive the value it deserved or did the Prime Minister’s Office not inform the Ministry of Affairs foreigners?” He asked.

Parameshwara claimed that he could see how the Center was functioning and pointed out that once Prajwal Revanna’s diplomatic passport was cancelled, he would have to return to India as he would lose his immunity for staying abroad.

On application for seizure of passport of Karnataka JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna who fled to Germany amid sexual assault allegations, EAM Dr S Jaishankar Friday said, “The MEA received this request from Karnataka only on May 21. We acted on this request and the process was initiated…”

Prajwal, grandson of JD(S) patriarch HD Deve Gowda and NDA candidate from Hassan Lok Sabha constituency, is facing allegations of sexual abuse of women. Reports indicate that Prajwal left for Germany on April 27, the day after the Hassan elections, and is still at large.
