Nikki Haley in Israel, to meet hostage families

TEL AVIV: Republican leader and former American ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley reached Israel where she will visit the southern and northern provinces and meet the families of hostages held by Hamas.

Member of the Israeli Knesset and former Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon will accompany Nikki Haley on her tour of Israel.

The Republican leader, tipped to be Donald Trump’s running mate, will visit southern Israel, notably Kibbutz Beeri, Kfar Aza, Nir Oz and other Gaza border areas where the Hamas massacre took place on October 7, 2023.

Remember that 1,200 people were killed and around 250 people taken hostage in Gaza.

Nikki Haley will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and other members of the war cabinet.

Recently, three close political advisors of former US President Donald Trump – Robert O’Brien, who was Trump’s National Security Advisor (NSA), John Rakolta, former US Ambassador to the UAE, and Ed McMullen, former US ambassador to Switzerland, have been to Israel.

The three men met Prime Minister and opposition leader Yair Lapid during their trip. John Rakolta was one of the key people involved in the Abraham Accords and behind diplomatic engagement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates. The visit of the three close aides of Trump and now of Nikki Haley is seen in Israel as a move by Donald Trump aimed at gaining the support of the Jewish community in the upcoming presidential elections.
