Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s luxury Italian pre-wedding cruise is all set to set sail

As if the Jamnagar celebrations in March weren’t extravagant enough for Ambani’s upcoming wedding, the couple is set to host their second bridal shower on a Mediterranean cruise.

Anant Ambani, 29, the youngest son of Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani – one of the richest men in the world, is set to marry Radhika Merchant, also 29, daughter of industrialist Viren Merchant.

Around 300 guests, including A-listers such as Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh and cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni, are said to have been invited to the cruise, which begins on Wednesday in Palermo on the island of Sicily in the southern Italy.

Based on the invitation, seen by India today, the idyllic voyage will sail the Mediterranean to dock in the town of Portofino on the Italian Riviera on Saturday. The general theme of the pre-wedding party will be La Vite e un Viaggio. or Life is a journey.

Themed evenings will take place on board the ship, with stops in Rome and Cannes.

Ambani Cruise Itinerary

The trip begins with a welcome lunch on Wednesday in Palermo. The first themed event is called Starry Night, where guests are asked to wear Western formal attire. The ship then docks in Rome for an excursion before another themed evening on board called La Dolce Far Niente, an Italian saying that translates to “the sweetness of doing nothing.” The dress code is “retro”.

The next event is a toga party, where guests wear Greco-Roman themed costumes and sandals.

A party will be dedicated to Veda, the daughter of Anant’s brother Akash and Shloka Ambani, on Friday, on her first birthday. The invitation describes it as V Turns One Under the Sun and guests are encouraged to wear a playful ensemble. A masked evening will follow as the ship docks in Cannes.

A Pardon my French themed after-party will be organized on the same day, before the trip ends in Portofino with the final evening of La Dolce Vita. A strict no-phone policy would be in place throughout the tour.

The cruise comes nearly three months after the first pre-wedding party of Ambani’s much-anticipated nuptials in July. Held in Jamnagar, Gujarat, on India’s west coast, the three-day event also involved several themed parties, and guests were flown in via charter flights.
