A major update is heading to Helldivers 2. The developers are also going after people who abuse the system of kicking players from the game.

Not everyone who fights against the Terminides and the Automata are patriotic defenders of democracy. The developers of Helldiverse 2 you want to target saboteurs who kick other players before they receive their mission rewards.

Thomas “Twinbeard” Petersson addressed this malicious practice in a message posted to the game’s Discord channel. The developer assured that the Arrowhead Game Studios team was working on an update that would somewhat alleviate this phenomenon. Unfortunately, no details or start date for the affected patch have been provided – the developers have not yet decided when they will implement this fix in the game.

The practice of kicking out allies right before the end of a mission, while rare, can be annoying for players. As you can see, even the absence of formal competition is not enough to eliminate toxic behavior from the game.

New robot in the game

As for some other news: players successfully liberated the planet Valyria 5 and thus unlocked the promised robot. The Stratagem EXO-49 Emancipator exosuit is now available for all democracy defenders (via X).

The players’ joy at completing the task (which is nice after the recent failures of the helldivers) was somewhat spoiled by discussions about the usefulness of this new toy. Some players believe the exosuit is too weak, while others view these early opinions as exaggerated and resulting from balance discussions (via Reddit).

Assessment and patrols for repairs

Talking about that, has Helldiverse 2 A patch is coming that will roll back some of the controversial gameplay balance changes. This is the first visible outcome of the discussion within the Arrowhead studio after Johan Pilestedt admitted that the team’s earlier “patches” may have been a bit off.

Nonetheless, Twinbeard emphasized (via Discord) that the next update will not be a “patch of patches.” The team simply decided to slow down because the “quality” of the updates was suffering from the rush (probably the result of the pressure caused by the sudden success of HD2 and problems with the PSN). Therefore, most likely also the announcement of less frequent fixes.

As for the more detailed content of the next update, Twinbeard hasn’t revealed much. However, he confirmed that the next patch will also fix the patrol issue (via Discord). It was promised that the appropriate fix would be implemented last week.
