10 flights to and from Guwahati canceled

Six flights operated by IndiGo and 4 flights operated by Alliance Air are among the canceled flights.

As many as 10 flights from Guwahati’s Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport were canceled on Tuesday due to cyclone Remal.

According to an official statement, flights of several airlines were canceled today due to the cyclonic storm.

Six flights operated by IndiGo and 4 flights operated by Alliance Air are among the canceled flights.

On Monday, at least 14 flights from Guwahati International Airport to Kolkata were canceled in the wake of Cyclone Remal.

Four flights operated by IndiGo, four by Alliance Air and one by Air India are reportedly among the canceled flights.

Carrier SpiceJet also grounded its only aircraft in Guwahati due to cyclonic storm Remal.

Meanwhile, the meteorological department has forecast heavy rainfall in several parts of Assam and Meghalaya due to cyclonic storm Remal.

An official from the Regional Meteorological Center in Guwahati said, “Many districts of Assam received heavy showers on Monday. This will continue for the next two days. Except for one or two districts, Meghalaya is also expected to receive heavy rains. We have issued opinions to this effect.
