High school football announcer goes viral after being caught on hot mic

A high school girls’ football presenter recently went viral on social media after his inappropriate comments were picked up on a hot mic.

Announcer Toby Moore thought his microphone was off at halftime of the third-place matchup between Rose Hill and McPherson at the Kansas Class 4A-1A state championship tournament in Wichita, Kansas. The competition was broadcast on the NFHS Network.

Moore, who clearly thought he was off the air, began criticizing players on both sides during halftime. He joked that he wanted to self-harm due to the poor quality of play on the field.

“My mind kind of flipped the ‘kill me now’ button after about 30 minutes,” Moore said. “If they’re going to keep kicking the damn ball out of bounds and missing passes all day, I might as well go home. …I just want to make a header at the top of the press box. Unfortunately, it’s too low. It wouldn’t kill me.

Moore and the other person in the booth then turned their attention to what they called a “bonus” at high school girls’ soccer games: soccer moms.

“Fuck yeah, baby,” Moore replied when his partner mentioned female footballers. “Upstairs, baby. The one facing us? See if she can rip it off. I can’t see the legs, but I can feel the hit from here.

You can listen to his full comments but be careful, they contain profanity:

Moore is prohibited from covering KSHSAA games in the future, according to Awful Announcing.

McPherson scored the only goal of the second half, beating Rose Hill 2-1.
