The hashtag “All eyes on Rafah” gained traction on social media following Israeli airstrikes that left 40 Palestinians dead and dozens injured in the southern Gaza town of Rafah. Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra, who often faces backlash for remaining silent on Palestine despite being a UNICEF Global Goodwill Ambassador, also took to her Instagram account and added the template “All eyes on Rafah” to his story.

While the Israeli military said its air force struck a Hamas compound in Rafah and that the strike was carried out with “precise munitions and based on precise intelligence,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu admitted that a “tragic mistake” had been made.

“Despite all our efforts not to harm innocent civilians, a tragic accident occurred last night,” Netanyahu said Monday in a speech to the Israeli parliament. “We are investigating the incident and will reach a conclusion because that is our policy.”
