COLUMBUS – Do you feel strained as a caregiver? “Powerful Tools for Caregivers” is an educational series designed to provide caregivers with the tools they need to care for those in their care while caring for themselves.

This program helps family caregivers reduce stress, improve their self-confidence, better communicate their feelings, balance their lives, increase their ability to make difficult decisions and find useful resources.

The courses include six sessions held once a week. Interactive lessons, discussions and brainstorming will help caregivers use the “tools” they choose and put them into practice.

Classes will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. every Thursday from June 13 to July 25 (except Independence Day, July 4) in the First Steps training room at the Doug Otto United Way Center, 1531 13th Street, Columbus.

Participants receive a copy of the Caregiver Helpbook, developed specifically for the class.

For more information or to register, contact 812.372.6918 ext. 2403 before June 5.

Guided by the vision that everyone has the opportunity to live a safe, engaged, and independent life, our mission at Thrive Alliance is to improve the quality of life and health of people at risk of losing their independence.
