Arsenal star tipped for shock move to Liverpool as Romano confirms approach

Paul Robinson believes Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale could move to Liverpool or Chelsea during the summer transfer window.

The Gunners boss brought in David Raya during the summer transfer window from Brentford to give Ramsdale competition after a promising first season in goal for the former Sheffield United keeper.

And after just four Premier League matches, Arteta made the decision to drop Ramsdale for Raya and the Spaniard has since retained his place in the team.

This led to rumors that the England international would leave the Emirates Stadium this summer, with former Leeds goalkeeper Robinson calling for a move to Liverpool could be on the cards.

There have been rumors that Liverpool could need a new goalkeeper this summer with Caoimhin Kelleher linked to other clubs, while Alisson is attracting strong interest from Saudi Arabia.

Robinson said Football Insider: “I don’t think Aaron Ramsdale will go abroad, I think there is a move for him to the Premier League.

“The one that stands out is Chelsea. Petrovic and Sanchez do not seem to be at the desired level. This is where Chelsea are.

“You look at other Premier League teams and he would fit into most teams. I don’t see Newcastle happening with Pope there. Would Brighton be interested?

“If Kelleher leaves Liverpool there is an opportunity for him to become number one with Alisson.

“Look at the number of games Kelleher has played this year, compared to Ramsdale, there is an opportunity there to get more game time and prove himself.

“Aaron Ramsdale has to go somewhere and he has to play.

“He was treated harshly at Arsenal. I think the way Arteta handled the situation was bad.

And transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed Liverpool received ‘approaches’ from clubs for Alisson ahead of the summer transfer window.

Romano said on his Youtube channel: “In recent days we have heard rumors about Alisson and offers from the Saudis. I was checking this, and what I was told was that there were approaches around March, April for Alisson, to try to understand the situation around the Brazilian goalkeeper.

“The response I got – and you should never say never in the market – but as of now, at the end of May, is that there has been some approach, but Alisson should stay at Liverpool.

“Liverpool are not considering changing goalkeepers. They are very happy with Alisson; Alisson is very happy at Liverpool. He is not desperate for a change, he is not looking for money, so at the moment Alisson is not expected to leave Liverpool in the summer transfer window for Saudi Arabia.
