Nicki Minaj’s second Amsterdam concert canceled after arrest for marijuana possession

According to Deadlinethe second Amsterdam concert of Minaj’s Pink Friday 2 world tour was canceled Friday night (May 31), a week after the rapper was arrested for allegedly having marijuana in his luggage.

The show’s cancellation was announced on Dutch promoter Mojo’s website, where the message translates to “Due to the events of the past week, Nicki Minaj’s show on Sunday, June 2 at Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome will not will no longer take place. Tickets will be refunded at the point of sale.

Minaj captured footage of the arrest on Instagram Live, also on X where she expressed her frustration with the Dutch police and her sadness for disappointing her fan base in the Netherlands.

“They tried to stop me from coming to every show. They took my bags before I could see them. Put them on the plane,” Minaj wrote in a since-deleted post on X at the time of her brief detention. “Now they say they are waiting at customs. This is what it looks like when people are paid a lot of money to try to sabotage a tour after everything has failed. Everything they have done is illegal.”

While the Queens native was arrested at Schipol Airport and fined 350 euros ($380), Minaj also called the treatment “disgusting” and racially motivated because she belonged to “a other confident breed,” which legal authorities denied.

“It’s annoying if she experienced it this way,” said a Dutch police spokesperson. BBC, dismissing Minaj’s claims regarding her treatment. “We arrested her after finding dozens of joints in her luggage. The lady was released four hours after her arrest in agreement with the prosecutor and after paying a fine.”
