Ben Affleck Thinks Jennifer Lopez Is Doing ‘Mediocre Projects’ Despite Tour Cancelation, Source Says

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are on the fast track to divorce, according to insiders. While Lopez and Affleck rekindled their flame in 2021, nearly 20 years after their first engagement, and married in 2022, the couple is reportedly heading toward a permanent separation. On May 31, 2024, Lopez announced the cancellation of her summer tour. And a source said Affleck thought Lopez took on “poor projects.”

Ben Affleck reportedly thinks Jennifer Lopez takes on ‘mediocre projects’

Jennifer Lopez rose to fame in the ’90s thanks to her incredible singing and acting abilities, and she’s maintained a loyal following for decades. Now in her 50s, she still makes films and music today. In 2024, she released her first album in a decade, It’s me now. Unfortunately, the album was reportedly a failure, which jeopardized his Las Vegas residency contract.

A source told The Sun that Ben Affleck hasn’t been happy with Lopez’s career decisions lately. “Ben thinks Jen needs to rethink her career and have a better team behind her,” the insider said. “He has been clashing with certain members for a while now, and this is causing tensions behind the scenes. He just wants what’s best for her and feels like she does a lot of mediocre projects and is surrounded by yes people who sometimes make decisions for her.

The source added that Lopez was “overworking” because Affleck had different “priorities” and was choosing to take a step back from overtime.

Another source told Us Weekly that Lopez and Affleck’s careers were the reason for their eventual split. “Both have demanding careers that often require them to reside in different cities,” the source explained.

Jennifer Lopez seemed delighted to launch her tour, It’s me… livein 2024. Unfortunately, she announced the cancellation of the tour on May 31, 2024.

“Representatives for Live Nation announced today that Jennifer Lopez’s summer 2024 U.S. tour ‘THIS ME…LIVE’ is canceled, citing… ‘Jennifer is taking time to be with her children, family and his close friends,'” The J. Lo fan newsletter read, according to USA Today.

“I am completely heartbroken and devastated to have let you down,” Lopez added in the statement. “Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t think it was absolutely necessary. I promise I’ll make it up to you and we’ll all be together again. I love you all so much. Till next time ….”

Lopez did not specify the reasons for the tour cancellation. Before the news, Lopez was reportedly having issues with ticket sales, which may have influenced this decision.

Ben Affleck Initiated Split, Insider Says

According to close sources, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have been having marital problems for months. A source claimed to In Touch Weekly that Affleck was the one who signed off on the separation and moved out of their home into a $100,000-a-month rent house nearby.

“At the end of the day, Ben has to protect himself, and that’s why he initiated the split,” the source claimed. “He’s afraid that if they stay together, he could seriously self-destruct.”

Affleck was reportedly “swept away” by the media attention surrounding his rekindled romance with Lopez. However, now that the dust has settled, he reportedly realized that he and Lopez were not compatible. “Her obsession with the limelight and her need to flaunt their love really didn’t sit well with Ben,” the source continued.
