Lex Luthor is one of DC Comics’ most fearsome and fan-favorite villains. With his unmatched intelligence and vast reach, the character has always been a threat to the Man of Steel. Superman has repeatedly used his strength to fight and stop Luthor’s menacing plans, throughout countless issues of DC Comics.

While Lex Luthor is set to make his live-action debut in the recently revamped DC Universe by James Gunn, played by Nicholas Hoult, he is sure to be written after the many DC comic book stories involving the character. However, one of his plans in the comics is so evil that Gunn would never even adapt it into David Corenswet’s film. Superman franchise.

Over the years, several entertaining and interesting storylines have taken place involving Lex Luthor and Superman. Always wanting to stay one step ahead of the Man of Steel, Luthor is known for meticulously hatching sinister plans that are sure to ruin Superman’s life. And the subject of his anger against the DC superhero is often his heroine, Lois Lane.

However, Luthor’s anger towards Lane is not only because he hates the Man of Steel, but also because he harbors a deep affection for the character. After trying to woo her several times in the comics and failing, Action Comics #890 by Paul Cornell and Pete Woods, titled The black ringLuthor from LexCorp creates a robot version of Lois Lane using her DNA and Kryptonian cybernetics (see YouTube).

The robot Lois Lane not only acts as his assistant or conscience, but she also has several built-in weapons that make her capable of protecting Luthor. However, as problematic as this may seem, his actions are even more problematic when it is realized that he continues to have sex with her.

While Robot Lois Lane has since appeared several times in DC comics, her appearance has garnered several different reactions from fans. However, it was his first appearance that sparked controversy and led to several shocking reactions from fans. While some fans were disturbed, others raised questions about the character’s morality.

He’s not just a simple android. It was created using Lois’ DNA and advanced technology…which means it might as well be a living clone of Lois…and that’s screwed. If it was just an android with no living components, that’s a different story. –

Although fans have had varying reactions to this particular storyline, with most finding it problematic and cruel, it’s no wonder James Gunn never adapts it at all. As the DC Universe is being revamped, it would be best for them to avoid such a controversial storyline.
