Divorce Sharing a New Single My Bedroom

Divorce has released a new song called My Room.

The vulnerable track offers soft vocals and emotional lyrics while showcasing the Nottingham quartet’s collaboration with producer Catherine Marks, known for her work with Boygenius, Foals and Wolf Alice. Vocalist and bassist Tiger Cohen-Towell explained:

“My Room is an ode to unconditional love. These lyrics are truly some of the most emotionally vulnerable I think I’ve written to date; they speak of a deep desire to be relaxed about showing love. affection towards someone you know extremely well I think familiarity can sometimes be scary, and that being truly seen can cause you to put up walls between yourself and the people you want to be closest to.

“We had a group of wonderful children singing on the last chorus, the children’s voices I think add both naivety and heaviness to the track. It really encapsulates the feeling we wanted to achieve with this song . It’s like being back in your childhood bedroom and I’m crying without really knowing why. But it’s happy too!

The band previously teased the record with March single Gears, which marked their first new material of 2024, following their 2023 EP ‘Heady Metal’.

Divorce will begin a UK tour in October, which includes a four-night hometown residency at Nottingham’s Bodega and a date at London’s Islington Assembly Hall. Tickets are on sale now.

They will also appear at Black Deer Festival, Truck, Brighton Psych Fest, Manchester Psych Fest and Edinburgh Psych Fest.
