Nouvel finishes fourth at Division 4 state golf meet

Saginaw Nouvel continues to progress.

After finishing sixth in the last two Division 4 boys’ golf state meets, the Panthers earned fourth place Saturday in the Division 4 state meet at Grand Valley State University’s Meadows Golf Course.

Clarkston Everest Collegiate won the title with a 664, New fourth with 679. Breckenridge finished 13th with 723.

Alex McCarthy led the Panthers and finished eighth. After shooting an 81 on Friday, McCarthy followed with an 82 for a 163. Teammate Giorgio Fabiano finished 13th after shooting 84-83—167.

Division 3

Millington finished 11th in the team standings, but the Cardinals placed two golfers in the top 12 in Saturday’s Division 3 state meet at Katke Golf Course at Ferris State. Brad Coleman finished third, two shots behind the leader with a score of 78-76-154. Teammate Bryce Martin finished 12th with straight 80s for a 160.

Colton Lower of Bullock Creek qualified as an individual and placed in the Top 10. Lower finished ninth with an 80-79—159.
