Teen suspect in Washington double homicide arrested in Florida

Washington, D.C. – Detectives have apprehended a second suspect involved in a fatal double shooting in the Southeast from March 2023.

On Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at approximately 7:44 p.m., Seventh District officers responded to the 2700 block of Bruce Place, Southeast, following reports of a shooting. Police found two men with gunshot wounds. Dana Faulkner, 23, of Southeast, died at the scene. The second victim was taken to hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening.

A short time later, officers were called to the intersection of Wheeler Road and Mississippi Avenue, southeast, for a report of a person unresponsive. They found Abdul Fuller, 15, of Southeast, with serious gunshot wounds. Fuller died on March 9, 2023. The investigation revealed that he was injured in the Bruce Place shooting.

On December 21, 2023, the Capital Region Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested a 19-year-old Northeast man, charging him with first-degree murder while armed (premeditated).

Members of the Florida-Caribbean Fugitive Task Force apprehended a 17-year-old man from northeast Jacksonville, Florida on Tuesday. He faces the same charges and will be extradited to the District of Columbia.

Los Angeles, CA – Rebecca Grossman, 60, was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison for the hit-and-run deaths of two young brothers, Jacob Iskander, 8, and Mark Iskander, 11. The sentencing took place Monday following his conviction in February. for the fatal incident that occurred on September 29, 2020 in Westlake Village.

Grossman hit the boys with his car as they were crossing a marked crosswalk in their neighborhood. Jurors found her guilty of two counts of second-degree murder, vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence and one count of hit-and-run resulting in death. Despite prosecutors’ request for a 34-year prison sentence, the judge imposed a sentence of 15 years to life and ordered Grossman to pay $47,000 in restitution to the Iskander family.

At sentencing, the boys’ mother, Nancy Iskander, expressed contempt for Grossman, calling her a “coward.” Grossman, in a letter to the judge, maintained that she was not a murderer and expressed continuing remorse and pain over the incident.

Evidence presented at trial indicated that Grossman was driving more than 80 mph, nearly twice the speed limit, and engaged in a “high-speed game of chicken” with the former Dodgers pitcher from Los Angeles, Scott Erickson. She allegedly did not stop after hitting the boys, only stopping 400 meters away when her car’s engine cut out. Witnesses said Grossman carried one of the boys on the hood of his car more than 100 feet and ran over him after he hit the brakes.

Grossman’s attorney, Tony Buzbee, argued that she was going 52 mph and that Erickson, who was crossing the crosswalk in front of her, was the first to hit one of the boys. However, prosecutors highlighted Grossman’s history of speeding and his disregard for human life.

Rebecca Grossman is the wife of plastic surgeon Peter Grossman and co-founder of the Grossman Burn Foundation, which supports burn survivors and their families.

The tragedy left a lasting impact on the Iskander family and the community, as evidenced by the emotional atmosphere in the courtroom during the trial and sentencing.

Wilmington, DE – Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Sunday morning in a Royal Farms parking lot.

On June 9, 2024, at approximately 11:17 a.m., officers responded to Royal Farms, 1031 South Market Street, for a report of a shooting. Shortly after, a 20-year-old man arrived at a nearby hospital with a gunshot wound. The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was in the Royal Farms parking lot when an unknown suspect shot him. He was transported to hospital by private vehicle and remains in stable condition.

There is currently no suspect information or surveillance footage available.
