Teen suspect in Washington double homicide arrested in Florida

Washington, D.C. – Detectives have apprehended a second suspect involved in a fatal double shooting in the Southeast from March 2023.

On Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at approximately 7:44 p.m., Seventh District officers responded to the 2700 block of Bruce Place, Southeast, following reports of a shooting. Police found two men with gunshot wounds. Dana Faulkner, 23, of Southeast, died at the scene. The second victim was taken to hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening.

A short time later, officers were called to the intersection of Wheeler Road and Mississippi Avenue, southeast, for a report of a person unresponsive. They found Abdul Fuller, 15, of Southeast, with serious gunshot wounds. Fuller died on March 9, 2023. The investigation revealed that he was injured during the Bruce Place shooting.

On December 21, 2023, the Capital Region Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested a 19-year-old Northeast man, charging him with first-degree murder while armed (premeditated).

Members of the Florida-Caribbean Fugitive Task Force apprehended a 17-year-old man from northeast Jacksonville, Florida on Tuesday. He faces the same charges and will be extradited to the District of Columbia.
