Tipra Motha MP calls for cancellation of exams, FIR against board chairman

Tipra Motha MP Ranjit Debbarma has called for cancellation of all recruitment exams held under the chairmanship of Data Mohan Jamatia. Debbarma also demanded the filing of a complaint against Jamatia, citing the involvement of the former president and other board members in the scandal.

The Tipra Motha Party currently governs the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC). The MLA’s demands follow the leaked answer key of the TTAADC exams, which were held to appoint Sub-Zonal Development Officers (SZDOs) and Deputy Principal Officers (Dy. POs).

In a letter to TTAADC CEO Chandra Kumar Jamatia, Debbarma highlighted the widespread outrage over the leak. “It has been excessively viral in social media as well as electronic and print media that a shameful episode has occurred in the administration of TTAADC with regard to the selection for the post of SZDO and Dy. PO. The appointed chairman of the board was Data Mohan Jamatia and other members and others were involved in the scam,” Debbarma wrote.

The MP expressed concern over growing public discontent, especially among unemployed youth, warning of possible law and order problems if immediate action is not taken. “Public inconvenience, unemployed youth are rising at high altitude and may at any time break the law and order of the state at large until drastic action is taken by the “TTAADC administration Scam. The image of TTAADC administration has collapsed remarkably. The entire people of Tripura are demanding rejection of any recruitment under its chairmanship.” , he added.

Debbarma further highlighted the urgency of sacking all officers recruited under Jamatia presidency due to strong suspicions surrounding their selection process. He also urged the TTAADC CEO to subject Data Mohan Jamatia to legal scrutiny, alleging his possible involvement in the leak of the answer key.
