Terrifying moment WWE Superstar Damian Priest lands on his NECK after getting his foot stuck in the ropes while trying to move at Clash at the Castle

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest narrowly avoided serious injury by landing on his neck on the stiff ring apron during his match at “Clash at the Castle” against Drew McIntyre.

Priest was attempting a front dive over the top rope and outside the ring to land on a standing McIntyre, a maneuver he has performed hundreds of times with no problem.

The Judgment Day member usually ends the dive by launching himself with a springboard from the middle rope. Priest went slightly over the middle rope, falling on it and getting his ankle caught in the top two ropes.

His trapped ankle sent his delivery straight into the ring apron, with Priest swinging over the side of the ring after botching the move.

The referee and McIntyre had to help free Priest from the head down. Priest continued the match and retained his championship in the main event.

Priest’s ankle injury seemed legit, as he clearly favored it for the rest of the game.

At WWE’s post-event press conference, Priest said his ankle was “like trash” and that he attended the melee instead of being immediately checked out by doctors.

“I managed to beat Drew McIntyre on one foot, so I’m pretty sure I’m good to go,” Priest said.

Priest won the World Heavyweight Championship from McIntyre at WrestleMania 40 in April, moments after McIntyre himself won the belt from Seth Rollins.

Priest earned the title opportunity by cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase, which he won last year.

McIntyre got his rematch in his homeland of Scotland, but came up empty in part due to a low blow from rival CM Punk.

If Priest is injured, it will likely be addressed on WWE’s upcoming Monday Night Raw show.
