Harry ‘shocked’ Charles and Kate wanted to ‘avoid him’ amid health crises

“I wanted to take this opportunity to personally thank you for all the wonderful messages of support and understanding while I was recovering from surgery,” Kate began in a video posted on social networks on Friday March 22. “It has been an incredibly difficult two months for our whole family. In January I underwent major abdominal surgery in London. At the time it was thought that my condition was not cancerous. The operation was a success , but tests after the operation revealed that cancer was present so my medical team advised me to undergo preventative chemotherapy, and I am now in the early stages of this treatment.

“This is of course a huge shock, and William and I did everything we could to process and manage this for our young family. It took me a while to recover from my surgery,” she continued. “More importantly, it took us a while to explain to George, Charlotte And Louis and to reassure them, everything will be fine. Like I told them, I’m fine. Having William by my side is a great source of comfort, as well as the love, support and kindness that many of you have shown. As a family we need time, space and privacy while I complete my treatment. My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy. I need to focus on making a full recovery. At this time, I also think of those whose lives have been affected by cancer. Please don’t lose faith or hope. You’re not alone.”
