Rahul Dravid recalls playing for Scotland, shares heartwarming message from Canada dressing room

Rahul Dravid visited the Canadian cricket team’s dressing room after the much-anticipated encounter between India and Canada at the Central Broward Regional Park stadium in Florida was abandoned. This heartwarming interaction culminated with the presentation of a jersey. Dravid also recalled the time when he represented the Scotland cricket team in 2003.

Rahul Dravidhead coach of the Indian men’s cricket team, showed a touch of class with a heartwarming gesture during the rain-affected match between India and Canada when he made a surprise visit to the Canadian locker room.

The much-anticipated encounter between India and Canada at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium in Florida was abandoned without a ball being thrown due to a wet outfield. Although it was a disappointment for both teams, it set the stage for a moment of sportsmanship.

Following the cancellation, David unexpectedly visited the Canadian locker room.

During his visit, Dravid not only offered words of encouragement; he shared personal experiences.

“Thank you very much. First of all, I just want to recognize and appreciate the fantastic contribution that you have made to this tournament. I think we all recognize the struggles and challenges that you all have to go through to be able to play this sport. It’s not easy,” he began his brief speech.

“I understand that, having played as a cricketer for Scotland, way back, I think, in 2003, so I know what the struggle is like for an associated country.”

“So, honestly, you are an inspiration to all of us. To show us that we really love the game, the kind of sacrifices that you are willing to make to play this tournament.”

All I will say is keep moving forward. You are an inspiration, not only to others, but I am sure you inspire young boys and girls in your own country.”

Dravid’s gesture went viral on social media with fans applauding the gesture.

Dravid also had a unique experience playing for the Scottish national cricket team in the English National One Day League in 2003.
