Silent Witness actress Shanika Ocean has detailed the terrifying moment a man in a hoodie tried to force his way into her car while she was parked at traffic lights.

The BBC star, who plays DC Anna Gilchrist in the series, took to her Instagram page to share video she took of the incident, which happened in Dock Street, near Tower Bridge, on Saturday around 10:30 p.m. She revealed that she luckily managed to get around him after taking a video of him trying to get into the vehicle.

“Ladies in particular, please make sure you LOCK your car doors when driving in London,” she wrote in the video. “This happened to me about an hour ago while I was at the traffic lights. If anyone knows who this idiot is let me know!! He pulled his hood up as I started recording It was at the Dock Street traffic lights to pull onto the A1203 towards the Limehouse link tunnel.

The video began with the man facing away from the car as he attempted to cover his face with his gray hoodie. He then turned around to try to get back into the car. He was seen calmly smiling as Shanika shouted: “Get off my fucking door!” He waved at her then continued trying to open the door.

She also told her followers what happened in a video filmed in her car. She told the camera: “I stopped at the traffic lights and basically the guy was smiling and waving at me. I was ignoring him and focusing on the traffic lights and he decided to come towards my car, knocking on my windows and “I made all kinds of signals, gun signals and he was trying to get into my car. I couldn’t leave because I was stopping on a busy main road and I would have ended up in a car accident. “

The star decided to take out his phone to record it and quickly pulled up his hoodie to hide his face. The incident lasted several minutes. “It was a truly horrible experience. As the light was about to turn green, I dropped my phone and he ran around and stood in front of my car trying not to let me pass .I think I managed to backtrack and swerve around him,” she added.

Shanika contacted the police, but they were unable to help her and set up an appointment for her to make a statement next week. She ended the video by urging people to lock their car doors when driving in London as the city “isn’t safe”. Shocked fans rushed to the comments section to share their concern over the incident.

One user said: “I’m so glad you’re ok. Next week??!! What is it,” while another posted: “London is out of control now. J I loved my town but it became such a disaster Sorry for you I put up with this behavior sis, glad you’re safe. Be safe, it’s so scary.”
