Shocking footage shows group looting jewelry store in Bay Area

A group of approximately 20 people looted a jewelry store in California’s San Francisco Bay Area on Wednesday, June 12, according to security footage released by the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.

The shocking footage shows a large group of people with hammers breaking into PNG Jewelers in Sunnyvale break in through front door. Store employees are seen running to lock themselves in side rooms just before the group of thieves burst in.

The Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety said the suspects fled the jewelry store in several vehicles before officers could arrive on scene.

Police then arrested five of the suspects who attempted to flee on foot after a car chase.

The Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety said some jewelry was recovered, but the total value of what was stolen was unknown.
