Dead rat, human finger, 'fried' frog and snake: 5 bizarre summer deliveries that shocked customers

Five consecutive cases of shocking deliveries have come to light across the country as customers regretted their online purchases as they opened the package to have nightmarish experiences. From finding a dead rat in Hershey’s chocolate syrup to finding a venomous snake with an Amazon package, these experiences have alarmed people.

New Delhi: Online product deliveries have become the scariest nightmare of their lives for some customers as they opened their packages and discovered shocking discoveries, ranging from a human finger to a dead rat and even a frog. The incidents came to light in different parts of the country.

In Noida, two residents shared their shocking experiences: one found a human finger in ice cream while another found a centipede in a tub of ice cream she had ordered online. In Gujarata young girl found a “fried” frog inside the packet of crisps.

Another woman shared her terrible experience on social media when she found a dead rat in the bottle of Hershey’s chocolate syrup. In Bengaluru, a family received a snake with their Amazon package. Here are all the bizarre deliveries that shocked customers.

“Fried” frog in a packet of chips

In Jamnagar, a dead frog was found in the packet of Balaji wafers and it was even fried along with the wafers. The complainant, Yasmin Patel, said her niece brought a packet of Balaji Wafers’ Crunchies and after eating half the packet they found a dead frog inside.

Yasmin first contacted the merchant who sold the package, then the agency and finally Balaji Wafers customer service. But she alleged that the company’s customer service told her she could take whatever action she wanted.

Dead mouse in Hershey’s chocolate syrup

In another incident, a woman on Instagram claimed she found a dead rat in the bottle of Hershey’s chocolate syrup. She urged people to “keep their eyes open” by recording the “shocking discovery” in a video and sharing it on social media.

In her Instagram post, Prami Sridhar wrote about the “shocking discovery in my Zepto order. This is for your kind invitation to everyone to open their eyes. As seen in the clip, she poured syrup on a spoon and allegedly found a few strands of hair.

“We ordered Hershey’s chocolate syrup from Zepto to go with brownie cakes. We started by pouring the cakes, grabbed the little hairs continuously and decided to open. The opening was sealed and intact. We opened and poured into a disposable glass, a thick, hard consistency of dead rat fell out. Washing with running water for reconfirmation, it is a dead rat (sic.),” Prami said in his post.

In her post, Prami also said that several members of her family had tasted the syrup and fell ill, and are currently recovering. “Please be conscious of what you eat and what you order. Please check when giving to children,” she said in her post.

Hershey responded with a message: “Hello, we are so sorry to see this. Please send us the UPC and bottle manufacturing code to [email protected] with reference number 11082163 so one of our team members can assist you.

Human finger in ice

Noida-based Dr Orlem Brandon Serrao had discovered a human finger in an ice cream cone his sister had ordered online. He described the traumatic experience, saying: “After eating half of it, I felt a solid piece in my mouth. I thought it might be a nut or a piece of chocolate and I spat it out to check what it was. I am a doctor. , so I know what the body parts look like. When I examined it closely, I noticed the fingernails and fingerprints underneath. It looked like a thumb. I am traumatised.

In response to this incident, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) took prompt action. The FSSAI has suspended the license of the manufacturing unit responsible for the ice cream. A team from the FSSAI Western Region office inspected the premises and found significant lapses in food safety norms.

Centipede in a tub of ice cream

In another incident, a Noida woman claimed to have found a centipede in a tub of ice cream she had ordered through an instant delivery app, said food safety officials, who have launched an investigation on the case. In a post on X on June 15, the woman, who identified herself as Deepa Devi, shared a photo showing the insect inside the ice cream tub.

She contacted the online delivery platform, through which she ordered the ice cream, and informed them about the centipede incident. The delivery boy refunded her the amount she had paid for the order and also gave her assurance that an Amul staff member would contact her soon. However, the woman said she is still waiting for a response from them as no one has contacted her yet. The woman also mentioned that she would contact the police in case her problem was not resolved.

A family in Bengaluru received a live Spectacled Cobra along with their Amazon order of an Xbox controller. The venomous snake was fortunately stuck to the packaging tape, preventing any harm to the family. The snake was identified as a possible spectacled cobra (Naja Naja), a highly venomous snake species indigenous to Karnataka.

Luckily, it was stuck to the packing tape and didn’t hurt anyone in their house or apartment.

Talking to Times Now, the customer revealed details of the ordeal: “We ordered an Xbox controller 2 days ago from the online delivery service and received a live snake in the package. The package was delivered directly to us by the delivery partner (not left outside). We live on Sarjapur road and have filmed the entire incident, and we have eyewitnesses to the same.
