The Food Hall Co. Announces Shaver Hall Culinary Center in Midtown Manhattan

The Food Hall Co., renowned for creating premier dining and entertainment destinations, is excited to unveil its latest development, Shaver Hall, in New York City. Scheduled to open on the ground floor of Amazon’s Hank Building at 424 5th Avenue, Shaver Hall will occupy approximately 35,000 square feet in the historic Lord & Taylor building. This new food hall aims to celebrate the rich heritage of its location while introducing a dynamic dining experience to Midtown Manhattan.

Amazon’s adaptive reuse of the Lord & Taylor building aligns with its vision of creating integrated urban experiences. Shaver Hall will be a cornerstone of this vision, strengthening the vibrancy of Midtown Manhattan by providing diverse food options and new opportunities for local small businesses. The first two food stalls announced for Shaver Hall are Chick Chick, celebrating chef Jun Park’s Korean-inspired chicken, and Taqueria Al Pastor, offering authentic Mexican cuisine. These early operators paved the way for a diverse and flavorful culinary landscape.

Shaver Hall is designed to provide a diverse and dynamic culinary environment. The space will feature two restaurants, more than 10 food stalls, two full-service bars, a unique bodega and live music, making it a vibrant hub for food lovers and cultural aficionados.

Named in honor of Dorothy Shaver, the pioneering chairwoman of Lord & Taylor and the first woman to lead a multimillion-dollar company, Shaver Hall embodies innovation, creativity and cultural influence. Shaver’s legacy of supporting young American designers and fostering creativity is reflected in the food hall’s mission and offerings. The historic Lord & Taylor Building, constructed in 1914, is an 11-story commercial masterpiece designed by Starrett & van Vleck in the Italian Renaissance Revival style.
