Driver Caught Speeding in New York State

New York State Police are reminding people to pay attention and obey speed limits as the busy summer begins. Not to mention the Move Over law in New York State and what to do in a work zone.

Recently, New York State Police reported stopping a driver who was going more than 35 miles per hour over the speed limit.

Although there was no legitimate reason for driving so fast, the driver in this case thought he had one.

Summer 2024 is here and across New York State we are facing a week-long heat wave that has made it difficult to breathe and do outdoor activities. But as summer arrives, so does the busy road trip season for drivers and families across the Empire State.

Not only is summer a busy travel season on the roads and in the air, but more people are walking and biking than ever before and the need for attention is greater at this time of year.

These days our focus and attention are pulled in many different directions. However, when you are driving, it is imperative to respect the highway code for your safety and that of those around you.

Among the things to remember when driving is wearing a seat belt. In fact, New York State Troopers have stepped up their efforts to monitor people who drive without wearing one.

According to reports, police say more than 112,000 tickets were issued between May 20 and June 2, including more than 15,000 for improper seat belt use and child restraint violations.
